Their “I love the 80s Dance Party” set-list for tonight included such dance hits as “Babe We’re Gonna Love Tonight,” “Come and Get Your Love,” “Unexpected Lovers,” “Angel Eyes,” “Your Love” and “Guilty.”
Hubertz listed “Unexpected Lovers” and Guilty” as his two personal favorite songs to perform live, while Dorris selected “Your Love.”
Dorris shared her excitement about performing at Mulcahy’s, especially since she was born and raised on Long Island. “I’ve never performed here before, but I’m really excited,” she said.
Regarding their future plans, Hubertz said, “Future is left up to the fans, who have been so amazing. As long as they keep coming to shows, we will be there.”
On the impact of technology in the music scene, Dorris said, “I miss vinyl and the sound of vinyl. It had a warmth to it.” “With technology, music has lost some of its memorable hooks and chorus lines, where some songs seem flat. Nothing sticks in your head anymore,” Hubertz added.
It was quite the thrill for Hubertz to get up on stage and perform with disco queen France Joli for her birthday bash concert at Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall back in February. “It was on my bucket list since we started playing shows together,” he admitted. “She is such an iconic figure in this industry, and an amazing person on top of it all. France was my sister’s favorite singer, so to be able to share the stage with her and sing ‘Come to Me’ was truly an honor and a memory I will always hold close.”
Hubertz’s advice for aspiring musicians is as follows: “It’s a tough business, but if you love it a lot, then you have to pursue it.”
For their fans on Long Island, Hubertz said, “Being a new resident of Long Island, my new family grows every show and I always look forward to performing here. They never let me down. In closing, I would just like to thank all the fans for allowing Lime to be part of the soundtrack of their lives. Much love.”
Dorris added that Legends of Vinyl presented them with their first ever Legacy Award. She wanted to extend her appreciation to the fans for keeping the legacy and music of Lime alive for 30 years. “Thank you so much for the support all these years,” she told their fans.
