Terrell Ransom Jr. talks ‘A Chance in the World,’ acting, future (Includes interview)

This film is based on the best-selling novel by Steve Pemberton, and he described it as an “amazing” experience to play the lead in the film. “The film hit over 800 theaters nationwide, so all of my family, friends and most of my fans were able to watch it. Seeing myself on the big screen in a leading role was crazy to me. Also, it will be streaming later this year in several countries, so anyone that missed it in theaters will get to see it,” he said.

On his future plans, he said, “School wise, I plan on going to college. I just haven’t decided if I want to stay in California or go out of state. Career-wise, I am working towards my black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Xtreme Martial Arts. I also do tumbling and acrobatics. I want to be a superhero for sure. I am hoping to get the role of Miles Morales if Marvel ever does a live action project.”

Digital transformation of entertainment

On the digital transformation of entertainment, he said, “Streaming and things like that allow people to see your work and acting all around the world. Social media allows you to connect with those people. I actually have fans all over the U.S. and in countries in Africa, Australia, the UK, South America and Asia.”

On his use of technology in his daily routine, Ransom Jr. stressed that he is an avid user of social media.

For aspiring actors, he encouraged them to never up on their dreams. “If you want to act, you should know that it can be fun but it’s a lot of hard work. My mom always said: ‘anything worth having in life requires hard work.’ She wasn’t lying,” he explained.

He listed Michael B. Jordan and Denzel Washington as his dream acting partners. “Michael B. Jordan can give me tips on acting and working out. I’m trying to get buff. Also, Denzel Washington because he could give me amazing acting tips and life lessons,” he said.

For his fans, he concluded, “Thanks so much for being my fans, following me on social media and having nothing but positive things to say. I really appreciate all of your love and support.”
