Actor Blake Cooper Griffin talks digital transformation in acting (Includes interview)

On the digital transformation of the acting industry, he said, “One of the great things about it is that everything is so accessible, and there are so many platforms, and everything is very immediate. It’s really great that content that content can be more creative. The Sexy Civics video was shot a couple of weeks ago, and it’s already out. I think that’s so great. Technology is a great avenue for storytellers. If you want to tell a story, and if you get equipment and some actors together, you can tell that story. I think that’s really exciting. I’ve worked in TV, film and theater, and now I’ve done a few of these Internet related media, and I love the feedback from the people watching it. I love how people can write me a note on Instagram and Facebook and tell me what they think about it. That’s really cool since you don’t always get that when you are doing a movie. I’ve always loved to hear from people, since you want to have a conversation.”

Cooper is an avid user of technology himself. “I think you need to find a balance,” the actor admitted. “I certainly use it all day long and we are all glued to our phones. I love Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. They all have their own platform. Instagram is for sharing photos, Facebook, I do a lot of reading and catching up on old friends, and Twitter is like a news source. What I do, is that I will put my phone in the other room so I can put it down, especially when I’m having dinner with people. I try to put my phone away, to not interrupt myself and our conversations. That’s important too.”
