TIDAL announces star-studded TIDAL X: 1020 benefit concert

On Sept. 29, rapper and entrepreneur Jay Z tweeted that his TIDAL streaming service surpassed 1 million followers and closed the tweet with “Let’s celebrate 10/20 Brooklyn.” Fans were left to imagine what the rap mogul had in store. Now details for the anticipated event, officially titled TIDAL X: 1020 have been released.

Earlier this year, Jay Z purchased TIDAL from the Swedish company Aspiro for $54 million and has since turned it into a must-have music streaming service. TIDAL X is known for providing its members with the opportunity to access exclusive events and concerts. The TIDAL X: 1020 lineup showcases the platforms wide variety of emerging and mainstream artists. The event will take place Oct. 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn with a lineup including Beyoncé, Jay Z, Prince, Usher, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, T.I., Damian Marley, Fabolous, Indochine, Thomas Rhett and more. The rising artists taking the stage are Alessia Cara, Benjamin Booker, Flatbush Zombies, Bas and Justine Sky. Concertgoers will also be treated to the DJ stylings of DJ Cipha Sounds and DJ Reflex.

According to a press release, TIDAL will donate 100 percent of the ticket sales to various nonprofit organizations through the New World Foundation. The New World Foundation supports community activists across America as well as around the world. Tickets are currently on sale for TIDAL members only and will go on sale to the general public this Friday Oct. 2 at 12 p.m. ET. Ticket prices will range from $75 to $244. To purchase tickets for the one night only TIDAL X: 10/20 at Barclays Center, visit tidal.com. If you’re unable to make the event or don’t live in New York, TIDAL will stream the event live on its website for everyone around the world to enjoy.
