Sick of Sarah back with rocking new studio album ‘Anthem’ (Includes first-hand account)

Their six-track album opens with the rocking and upbeat tune “Stereo,” where lead singer Abisha Uhl’s vocals are refreshing and captivating, sustaining the listener’s attention from the first note. It immediately breaks into the soothing and infectious “Bars Full of Strangers,” which is worthy of the repeat button.

As Digital Journal reported, their lead single and mid-tempo “Rooftops” is a stunning track, with a neat echo effect to it.

The follow-up “Blind” is fun, especially since the girls showcase a little attitude on this uptempo tune. “Everything Is Beautiful” is a highlight track on the album, due to its lyrics’ vivid imagery and it closes on a rocking note with “Contagious.”

The Verdict

Overall, Sick of Sarah is as good as ever on their latest studio effort, Anthem. There is not a filler track on the CD, making it difficult to select a personal favorite. Aside from Uhl, instrumentalists Jessie Farmer and Katie Murphy nail the guitars, and Jessica Forsythe is sensational on drums. It garners 5 out of 5 stars.
