Review: Phil Collen’s Delta Deep back with lyric video for ‘Bang the Lid’ (Includes first-hand account)

Debbi Blackwell-Cook nails the sultry vocals on the tune, and the band harmonizes well with her. It is a track from their critically-acclaimed debut album.

“Come here chile, close to me, I’ll make it worth your while, Said, ‘Gal don’t faint!’ Work me hard all day, Tryin’ to work away my smile,” Debbi sings, in the opening verse.

Aside from Debbi, Phil Collen, the lead guitarist from Def Leppard, is featured on electric guitars and vocals, as well as Forrest Robinson on percussion and drums and Robert DeLeo on bass.

The Verdict

Overall, Delta Deep’s “Bang the Lid” is upbeat, soulful and impressive. Debbi’s voice is an eighth world wonder, and Collen displays some killer guitar riffs. It has a somewhat haunting vibe to it as well. “Bang The Lid” garners an A rating. Well done.
