They shared the stage with The 90’s Band, who was able to warm up the stage for the group, and they went on to perform following Larger Than Life’s set.
Dressed in white outfits, they began their set with “Larger Than Life,” the ever-popular Backstreet Boys song. “All right Mulcahy’s. Are you guys ready to have a good time? Scream,” Edvin Ortega exclaimed.
It was followed by their version of ‘N Syncs’s “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” where their choreography was spot-on, and they showed their R&B side on Next’s “Too Close,” as well as on the sultry “No Diggity” by Blackstreet and Dr. Dre, as yellow lights dimmed from the stage.
“We want everyone to sing this song with us,” Ortega told the audience, as they immediately broke into the Boyz II Men love ballad “I’ll Make Love To You.”
Their memorable boy band set included their version of 98 Degrees’ “Because of You,” where they displayed their harmonies, and an added treat was the inclusion of One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful,” as they underwent different outfit changes.
The Verdict
Nobody covers boy band songs better than Larger Than Life‘s Edvin, Toly, Devin and Chris. It is always a pleasure seeing them play live at Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall, and they get better each time they step foot on stage. Their show garnered two thumbs up.
