Most impressive about “Southern Boy” is that it earned 53 first week adds on the country radio stations. The song has a soothing melody to it, and both Rager and Aldeans’ voices are smooth as silk. They tackle the song subject matter with much sentimentalism, and their story-telling ability is impeccable.
Rager is 21 years old and originally from Loganville, Georgia. He has toured with such country artists as Randy Houser, Josh Thompson, Kip Moore, Love and Theft, and Rodney Atkins, among others.
“Keep stealing those kisses from your southern belle, keep loving those Friday nights, keep rolling with your buddies, raising a little hell, Just don’t cross the line,” Rager sings.
A Broken Bow Records country artist, Rager collaborated with label-mate, country superstar Jason Aldean and “Southern Boy” went on to debut at No. 45 on the Billboard country charts. The song was co-penned by such songwriters as Jeremy Stover, Luke Laird and Barry Dean.
