Review: Jason Derulo charms on new single ‘Want To Want Me’ (Includes first-hand account)

Derulo co-wrote the song, and Colin Tilley directed his music video. It is a track from his forthcoming studio album, Everything is 4, which will be released on June 2, via his record label, Warner Bros.

“You open the door, Wearing nothing but a smile, Fell to the floor and you whisper in my ear,” Derulo sings; moreover, the single has one of the catchiest riffs and bridges, where he displays his rich and impressive falsetto, where the listener can recall Adam Levine from Maroon 5. “Just the thought of you gets me so high, so high.”

After charting for five weeks, it has reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and it has the potential to climb a lot higher.

His music video is quite sizzling, especially the scenes where he is seen doing sit-ups while hanging upside down, showcasing his toned physique, which will certainly please his female fans.

Big Time Rush’s James Maslow does a killer rendition of this tune, which may be seen by clicking here.

The Verdict

“Want to Want Me” is one of Derulo’s best singles to date. It is quite different than his previous musical works, and it shows his ability to keep his music fresh and surprise his fans along the way, in the most pleasant way possible. The radio stations in New York City are playing it on heavy rotation and rightfully so. It garners an A rating.
