“Southern Gentlemen” is one of the six tracks on her critically-acclaimed Do Love Well studio album. The song was written by songwriters Georgia Thomas Edgeworth and Robin Grant. On this version, Grammy winner Bryan White (“From This Moment On” duet with Shania Twain) plays drums, and a killer electric guitar solo, and is featured on its background vocals. In addition, White served as the song’s producer.
“I know a place where boys treat girls like ladies, yeah, they carry your bags, so get yours packed, they’re waiting,” Upton-Hill sings.
Upton-Hill’s vocals are breathy and sassy, and reminiscent of Canadian country singer Carolyn Dawn Johnson .
