Review: Chris Cornell haunting on ‘Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart’ video (Includes first-hand account)

This song is the lead single from his forthcoming solo studio album Higher Truth. It has a western theme to it and without giving too much away, a pleasant ending.

The video was envisioned by Cornell himself, and Jessie Hill serves as its director. It features cameos from such noteworthy Hollywood actors Eric Roberts from Runaway Train and The Expendables, W. Earl Brown from Deadwood, as well as Cornell showcasing his acting chops. The music video has a neat story-line to it, especially since it tells an unprecedented love story in a Wild West setting. It is no wonder that it has been well-received from fans and climbing the Active Rock, Mainstream Rock and Triple A charts. He will be touring to promote this studio effort.

The Verdict

Overall, Chris Cornell delivers on his latest music video, and it should propel the song to a higher level, and introduce his new music to a new generation of fans. The “Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart” video garners an A rating.
