article imageReview: Carrie Underwood back with sizzling new single 'Smoke Break' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Aug 25, 2015 in Music
Country songstress Carrie Underwood is back with a new radio single "Smoke Break," and she filmed a sizzling music video for the song.
Underwood looks as stunning as ever in the song's music video, which was directed by Randee St. Nicholas. An Oklahoma native, Underwood co-penned the single with Chris DeStefano and Hillary Lindsey, while Jay Joyce served as her producer. It is a track from her forthcoming studio album, Storyteller, which will be out via Sony Music Nashville on October 23.
"She's a small town, hard-working woman just trying to make a living, working three jobs, feeding four little mouths in a run-down kitchen, When you never taking nothing and doing nothing but giving, It's hard to be a good wife and a good mom and a good Christian," Underwood sings, in its opening verse.
Her spitfire vocals are reminiscent of fellow country sensation Miranda Lambert.
The Verdict
Overall, "Smoke Break" may be slightly different than Carrie Underwood's previous musical works, but it showcases her ability to take risks and keep things fresh. It garners an A- rating.
