Review: Before You Exit electrifies Best Buy Theater in New York City (Includes first-hand account)

“New York,” they shouted, prior to taking the Best Buy Theater stage. They began their impressive set with the upbeat and fun “Dangerous,” as the stage was graced in red and blue lights, and they had the crowd clapping along. “I need to see everybody on their feet,” Riley said, mid-way through the song. Riley sang lead vocals, while his brothers Connor and Toby played electric guitars and accompanied him on harmonies.

The trio of siblings interacted well with the audience throughout their show. “How are you guys doing tonight?” Riley asked. “You are one good-looking crowd,” Connor added. They introduced themselves as Before You Exit from Orlando, Florida, and they inquired as to whether or not the crowd was ready to have a good time. The consensus in the venue was ‘yes.’

They immediately broke into their latest radio single, the anthemic “Model,” which had a neat dance music arrangement to it, and they had their fans waving their hands from side to side. That was the moment that Riley took off his black jacket and every girl in the audience went nuts; moreover, they shared the fact that their brother and band-mate, Toby, is 17 years old and single.

Riley expressed his excitement to be in New York, and praised the audience for being their loudest fans on their tour so far. Connor and Toby switched over to acoustic guitars, and Riley paid homage to British pop superstar Ed Sheeran by delivering a tender rendition of his hit single “Thinking Out Loud,” displaying their diversity as a pop band.

Before You Exit followed it up with “Soldier,” as the stage was graced in red lights, and they had their fans put their hands up in the air yet again.

“Are you ready to kick it up in here?” they asked, prior to covering Jason Derulo’s “Want To Want Me,” with Riley showcasing his falsetto. “Thank you guys so much. We love you,” they said, following the warm reception of their rendition.

A fan in the audience had her birthday, so they serenaded her to “Happy Birthday,” and invited everybody in the venue to sing along with them during their birthday serenade. Connor noted that they saved “absolute craziest song for last,” which was the uplifting tune “I Like That,” where they got their fans jumping up and down.

“The boys were absolutely awesome. They definitely made my first concert a one to remember. They were so interactive with the fans and that’s what I loved the most,” said Emma, a teenage fan who attended her first-ever concert at Best Buy Theater in New York.

The Verdict

Overall, Before You Exit was phenomenal at their breakthrough performance at New York’s Best Buy Theater. Their live show was energetic and entertaining. They showcased a great deal of charisma and they had their fans with them every step of the way, by fully engaging them in their show. They deserve to become the next big band in pop music and their music to be played on all the radio station airwaves. Their concert garnered 5 out of 5 stars.
