Collen will be joined by Robert DeLeo, the bassist for Stone Temple Pilots, as well as Debbi Blackwell-Cook on lead vocals and Forrest Robinson on drums. Delta Deep’s 2016 “Sugar Shack Tour” kicks off this spring on March 28 in Washington, DC at the Howard Theatre, and they will be playing B.B. King Blues Club in New York on April 3, as Digital Journal reported. The tour will warp up on April 8 in Bay Shore on Long Island at the YMCA Boulton Center, and more dates are expected to be announced in the near future.
Their concert in New York this past September, received a favorable review from Digital Journal, praising Blackwell-Cook for her dynamic vocals, as well as Collen for his harmonies and exquisite guitar-playing ability, and Robinson for his percussion skills.
Most impressive about Delta Deep is that it started in 2012 after jamming with his relative, Debbi Blackwell-Cook, and it would later become a blues quartet, with DeLeo and Robinson.
