Huntington - Country singer-songwriter Tyler Rich chatted with Digital Journal after his set at The Paramount on December 11, as her opened for Dustin Lynch on his "Hell of a Night" tour.
On performing at The Paramount on Long Island, he said, "It feels amazing. A lot of my close friends are from Patchogue out here. So being from California, and actually getting to come out here and play, has been amazing. Long Island was very good to me tonight. I had a lot of fun."
He noted that it has been an "awesome" experience to be sharing the stage with fellow country singers Chris Lane and headliner Dustin Lynch. "Dustin actually scouted me out half a year ago on Instagram. I covered his song 'Mind Reader' and now I am actually touring with him. It is crazy how that worked," he said.
A stand-out song in his set tonight was his single "California Grown." "That's my homage to country California," he said. "It is played on country stations. I wrote it when I was driving from Northern California to Southern California, and I turned on some country stations and realized that California has a lot more country than it gets credit for."
His songwriting is inspired from life in general and every aspect of it. "My family is the reason why I got into music. They are all musicians," he said.
Rich's plans for the future are to continue to tour, in an effort to bring music to the fans and listeners. In addition, to hopes to release a full-length album later next year.
