article imageInterview: Brennin talks eponymous country EP, 'Nashville' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Feb 19, 2016 in Music
Rising country singer Brennin chatted with Digital Journal about his new self-titled EP and being on the show "Nashville."
Regarding his new EP and its song selection process, he said, "Last summer, I was out on a radio tour with Ashley Clark for about 3.5 months, playing guitar, mandolin and singing backgrounds for him. With the little bit of time I was back home, I was writing or co-writing, and the songs were all contenders for a record."
From his new EP, he listed "Lose My Cool" as his favorite song. "It probably encompasses the sounds that I am, from every influence from Michael Jackson to Vince Gill to Joe Walsh from The Eagles," he said.
He is in the process of filming a music video for a song that is unrelated to his new EP, which deals with domestic violence. "We are talking with a national domestic violence nonprofit organization to partner with them," he said.
Brennin shared that his dream female duet choices in country music are Lee Ann Womack and Dolly Parton. "Lee Ann's Call Me Crazy is actually one of my Top 5 favorite country albums of all time, male or female," he said.
On his acting experience on the show Nashville, he said, "It was amazing. I went into it completely blind because I never acted before in my life, but it was a great experience."
