A few years ago, White made the Guinness Book of World Records for having the longest television career for a female entertainer in the industry. Her respected career has spanned 75 years and she has starred in such acclaimed television shows as The Golden Girls, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Mama’s Family, The Carol Burnett Show, among countless others.
Throughout her illustrious career in film and television, White has earned eight Emmy awards, three American Comedy Awards, three Screen Actors Guild awards, and a Grammy award. She is regarded by her peers in the industry as a true pioneer and she has been awarded several lifetime achievement awards such as the Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Comedy Awards in 1990, the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010; moreover, she was named “Favorite TV Icon” at the People’s Choice Awards in 2015, which was presented by Ellen DeGeneres, and she earned the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmys in 2015.
In 2008, White was inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame.
