‘American Horror Story’ actress dies at 43

The New York Times reported on Sunday that Siggins had passed away on Saturday morning. The website Just Jared reported that the actress passed away following complications from surgery.

Siggins was best known for her role as Legless Suzi on the fourth season of “American Horror Story: Freak Show.” According to her own website, Siggins was born with “a rare genetic disorder known as sacral agenesis, as a result of which “my legs were severely disformed, with the feet pointing in opposite directions.”

Siggins’ legs were amputated due to the condition. Remarkably, she is the “only person with sacral agenesis to have carried and given birth to a baby who was not disabled.”

In addition to her role on AHS, Siggins appeared as herself on several documentaries and series, including “Ripley’s Believe it or Not,” according the the actresses’ IMDB page.

Following her death, several of her co-stars offered their condolences. Actress Sarah Paulson said on Twitter, The AHS family lost one of our own… Rose Siggins was an absolute light… I will never forget your laugh or your beautiful eyes. Please consider helping to support her family at this difficult time. Two more spectacular children never existed. https://gofundme.com/RoseSiggins
