Female leaders would make the world more peaceful says Dalai Lama

“According to scientists, women biologically have more sensitivity about others’ pain than men.” the Dalai Lama told King during a half hour interview on solving war and the global environmental crisis that aired on Ora TV on July 16th.
Watch the Clip:

“Sometimes I really feel that more women should take responsibility in the leadership of our planet.” he explained. “It would mean less violence.”

The Dalai Lama declined to support Hillary Clinton for U.S. president however, saying that he likes to stay neutral in matters of politics.

The rest of the interview includes the Dalai Lama chiming in on aging and sex among other things, as well as revealing his personal opinions on the state of the world.

The Dalai Lama has been the leader of the Tibetan people since 1950 and is considered one of the top living spiritual teachers in the world. He has been living in exile in Dharamsala, India, since Tibet was overrun by China.

In 2013, the Dalai Lama told the British newspaper The Telegraph that he would be pleased to have a female successor to his position, which passes on after his death.

“Female(s) have more potential so should take more active role regarding promotion of human compassion” he told interviewer Cathy Newman.

“”The need to promote a more altruistic society” he continued, means that “we might be entering the ‘age of the woman.'”
