An Israeli man who was seriously wounded in an attack by Palestinians on a Jerusalem synagogue last year has died of his wounds, a hospital official said Sunday.
A spokeswoman for Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem, which had been treating 55-year-old Yehiel Rotman following a recent deterioration in his condition, confirmed his death, noting he had been unconscious since the November 18, 2014 attack.
Two Palestinians, Uday Abu Jamal and his cousin, Ghassan Abu Jamal, had stormed a synagogue in Jerusalem's Har Nof neighbourhood with meat cleavers and a pistol, killing four Jewish worshippers and a Druze policeman before being shot dead.
Rotman's death raised the number of victims to six, and comes amid a new wave of violence which includes daily knife attacks and shootings on Israelis.
In July, Israeli security forces sealed off the homes of the Jamal cousins in Jabel Mukaber.
