Trump switches from Android to iPhone that has one app: Twitter

It’s been since March 25 since he has Tweeted from an Android. The last Tweet he sent out from his Android phone was when he encouraged his followers to watch the “Justice with Judge Jeanine” on Fox News.

The switch was noticed by Twitter users after they noticed Trump’s Twitter account was being accessed by both an iPhone and an Android device. Another interesting note is that Twitter is the only app visible on the iPhone. Trump’s iPhone is heavily locked down and first party apps are not visible. However, it appears that the White House’s cyber security team decided to allow him to have the Twitter app on the phone.

Before the president made the switch, some security experts suggested that his Android device may have been a hacking risk. The specific model that was seen in photos was a Samsung Galaxy S3, which has not received a security update in the last two years.

The president is known for his Tweets and his aides like to keep his screen time limited by keeping him busy, according to one report. This is so he doesn’t send out too many Tweets.

The switch to the iPhone is thought to be a good move. This is because the devices receive regular security updates and they are thought to be a safer pick than older devices that run on Android.
