Which are the Web3 nations leading the way? The U.S. maintains top spot, but where else in the world are the rising tech nations? In 2024, India accounted for 17% of all new Web3 developers worldwide, highlighting the rapid growth of this technology across the globe.
To pinpoint the fastest-growing Web3 hubs, a company called ApeX Protocol looked at six key factors that show how active and advanced each country’s Web3 ecosystem is. These include the number of new Web3 companies started in the last five years, job openings in the Web3 field, the total number of Web3 developers, how many people own cryptocurrency, the number of blockchain-related patents filed, and the share of high-tech manufacturing in the country’s economy.
Web3, also known as Web 3.0, is the concept of a next-generation Internet built on decentralization, blockchain technology, and token-based economics. It envisions a web where users have greater control over their data and online identities, and where digital assets are more easily exchanged and owned.
Each factor was considered for a final ranking, revealing which countries are leading the way in building and adopting Web3 technology.

The U.S. ranks first as the fastest-growing Web3 hub. It launched over 2K Web3 companies in the past five years and filed 32K blockchain patents, nearly six times more than any other country. With a strong job market, a 15.5% crypto ownership rate, and nearly half its economy tied to tech manufacturing, the U.S. leads across nearly every category.
In second place is Singapore, which combines high-tech strength with Web3 development. It has 440 new Web3 companies and 202 active developers. Additionally, 85.5% of its economy is made up of advanced manufacturing. A strong job market and clear crypto policies make it one of the most business-friendly places for Web3 growth.
India comes third as the fastest-growing Web3 hub, powered by talent. It has the largest number of Web3 developers, with 927, and growing advancements in blockchain patents. With 216 new companies and a rising 6.6% crypto ownership rate, India’s developer strength is shaping its Web3 rise.
The United Arab Emirates takes fourth place, standing out with the world’s highest crypto ownership rate at 30.39%. Its 278 Web3 companies, 340 blockchain patents, and supportive tech policies show the fast growth of a major crypto and blockchain hub.
Japan rounds out the top five fastest-growing Web3 hubs, leading in blockchain innovation with 6.5K patents, second only to the U.S. It also has a highly active job market with 459 Web3 postings and strong tech manufacturing, helping it become a key player in Asia’s Web3 scene.
In sixth place is the United Kingdom, the first European country to appear on the list. It is backed by 497 Web3 companies and 2.8K blockchain patents. With a growing developer base and active job market, the UK is building a strong Web3 presence across finance, technology, and innovation.
Germany takes seventh place among the fastest-growing Web3 hubs, showing strength in both manufacturing and development. With 145 developers and 2.2K blockchain patents, the country also stands out for its strong base in advanced tech manufacturing. Together, making it a key hub in Europe.
France comes in eighth with 164 active Web3 developers and nearly 1K patents. Its economy is strongly tied to tech manufacturing, and with 124 new companies, it’s building steady progress in the Web3 space.
Brazil ranks ninth, thanks to a growing Web3 community and strong public interest, with 12% of people in the country owning cryptocurrency. Brazil expanded to 160 developers and 55 Web3 companies in the last five years, showing rising activity across the board.
Canada finishes off the top ten quickest growing Web3 hubs with 165 new companies and 172 active developers. With 1.2K patents and solid contributions from high-tech manufacturing, Canada is quietly but steadily building a strong Web3 foundation.
