Khalid, 5, and Hala, 3, have consented to marry each other, according to media reports. The Syrian children agreed to the engagement, and the parents said the marriage may take place in a decade or so. The kids even exchanged rings and vows.
Khalid’s father said the unusual engagement won’t interrupt the kids’ schooling. “I will bear the education expenses of both the children till they graduate,” he told the Gulf News.
Khalid met Hala during a seaside vacation in Lattakia, Syria. Now, when the couple is separated by school or family life, Khalid complains he wants to see Hala.
But are these wedding vows genuine or just fantasy? Khalid’s father addressed the issue, saying, “We know that Khalid or Hala might change their minds in the future, but what we do know at this stage is that they are very happy and talk to each other everyday.”
