Super Typhoon Haiyan leaves trail of devastation in Philippines

The aerial photographs show incredible damages caused by the Typhoon Haiyan after hitting Leyte province with huge waves, sweeping away coastal villages and devastating one of the main cities in the region.

President Benigno S. Aquino III flew around Leyte Island by helicopter on Sunday to assess the extent of damage in the area. His presidential helicopter landed in Tacloban to get a first-hand look at the disaster. Aquino said the government’s priority was to restore power and communications in isolated areas and deliver relief and medical assistance to victims.
