Silicon Valley throws virtually nothing at Donald Trump

The Wall Street Journal released a report that revealed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has received almost no financial support from those in Silicon Valley. Meanwhile, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has received more than $30 million from Silicon Valley. That’s compared to Trump’s $336,000.

Before dropping out of the Republican primaries, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul and Jeb Rush received millions from the tech sector. Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal, said he had no plans to donate money to Trump. Thiel was even a spokesperson for the Republican convention.

The report stated five main reasons for why Trump is having an issue with raising money from Silicon Valley. One reason is because he hasn’t reached out to anyone to discuss policy, nor has he developed a tech platform. He’s also attacked Apple and other tech giants. Furthermore, Trump wants to be tough on immigration, which conflict with the tech industry and he has made offensive comments.

As of now, Trump has not declared a tech policy platform, while Clinton has. Not only that, but apparently Trump doesn’t really use a lot of tech. In the past, it was reported Trump didn’t even own a personal computer and he once said he rarely used email and it was for wimps.
