-

Dilma Rousseff Thursday urged Brazilians to "mobilize" against what she branded a "coup" to drive her from power after senators voted to launch an impeachment trial against her.

"I call on all Brazilians who are against the coup, whatever party they support, to stay mobilized, united and peaceful," Rousseff said in a speech at the presidential palace, in her first public reaction to her suspension and trial.
