Review: ‘Living in the Future’s Past’ will melt your heart, Oscar-worthy (Includes first-hand account)

Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges presents and narratives this documentary, and he served as a producer for the film. Jim Swift was the executive producer. It truly ponders the essential question: “What kind of future would you like to see?” The statistics that it raises awareness about are staggering and compelling. It explores how nobody can predict how major changes might emerge from the spontaneous actions of the many.

Director Susan Kucera did a brilliant job directing this documentary feature, and its cinematography is superb; moreover, Keefus Ciancia’s musical score is haunting yet gripping.

The Verdict

Overall, Living in the Future’s Past is remarkable from start to finish. The photographs and scenes are visually striking. It will sustain the viewer’s attention for its entire duration, and it hits the audience like a shot in the heart. It is recommended for anybody who is passionate about the environment. It deserves to be nominated for an Academy Award, for “Best Documentary Feature,” and hopefully win that accolade. Congratulations to Jeff Bridges, Susan Kucera and the remaining cast and crew members for a job well done. Living in the Future’s Past earns five out of five stars.
