Prince Harry joins war against poachers in Africa

The 30-year-old prince and the army unit will be battling gangs of criminals as part of Operation Corona, an anti-poaching campaign. Harry was secretly flown into the military camp sometime last week, where he has been going on night patrols.

Several hundred infantry, 400 armed rangers and 150 others make up the South African force. Special forces and police are part of the force.

Last Wednesday, after the prince joined the united. the forces were involved in a shootout with three poachers along the Crocodile River. One of the poachers were injured, and forces recovered a high-powered rifle, as well as a silencer.

Three men were arrested, and Edna Molewa, the Minister of Environmental Affairs, welcomed the arrests. Molewa commended the rangers for their hard work.

Maj. Gen Jooste welcomed Harry’s arrival, saying that the prince will be with him for quite some time, and that they will try to keep him safe.

Conversation experts say that so far this year, more than 550 rhinos have been killed in Kruger, with an estimated 900 incursions by poachers.

The number of rhino deaths in Kruger has doubled over the last few years, as there is a market for their horns. The horns can be sold for up to $31,000 per pound in the Far East.
