Dashcam captures a nearly 25-minute daring rescue of a suspect that eluded a traffic stop, instead leading Grandview police officer Chris Golubski on a brief high speed chase until the suspect lost control of his vehicle, traveled off the left side of the road and up an embankment before flipping several times and coming to rest on an adjacent roadway.
Dirt, dust and debris fly everywhere upon the crash as the driver is thrown from the Ford Explorer he was driving and lands several yards away.
The officer approaches the vehicle and screams to see the suspect’s hands before he realizes the driver has been thrown from the vehicle.
Police cruiser video released Tuesday shows the officer administering CPR and assisting the man to regain consciousness before paramedics arrive.
Ahead of paramedics’ arrival, officer Golubski administered approximately 20 chest compressions that eventually helped the driver be brought back, a police department sergeant said.
Officer Golubski has been with the Grandview Police Department for three years. The officer’s quick work was also attributed to recent CPR training administered by the Grandview Missouri Fire Department.
The officer initiated the traffic stop over a broken rear window. The driver was not wearing a seat belt.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital, but his injuries are not considered life threatening.
