The string of coordinated attacks in and around Paris late Friday left nearly 130 people dead and hundreds more injured, in the worst such violence in France's history.
The assailants struck six different sites, including the Stade de France football stadium and eateries in the trendy east of the city.
- Bataclan concert hall, 89 dead -
The popular 1,500-capacity venue in eastern Paris was sold out for a concert by the US band Eagles of Death Metal.
About an hour after the band took to the stage, black-clad gunmen carrying AK-47s stormed into the hall and opened fire on the concert-goers, methodically reloading after emptying their magazines.
They remained holed up inside the venue -- holding those present hostage -- for nearly three hours, killing at least 89 people and injuring scores more.
Radio presenter Pierre Janaszak, who was attending the concert, said he heard an attacker tell the hostages: "It's the fault of Hollande, it's the fault of your president, he should not have intervened in Syria."
Two of the assailants blew themselves up after police stormed the venue shortly after midnight, while the third was shot by police.
- Stade de France, 1 dead -
At the same time, the first of three explosions was heard outsidethe Stade de France national football stadiumduring the first half of a friendly between France and Germany.
French President Francois Hollande, who was watching the game, was immediately evacuated and the access to the venue sealed off.
One passer-by was killed outside the glittering stadium that staged the 1998 World Cup final, along with three suicide bombers.
The two sides played on to the end. Afterwards, bewildered fans pour onto the pitch while waiting for all the exits to be declared secure.
- Rue de Charonne, 19 dead -
Back in the east of Paris, on Rue de Charonne, at least 19 people were killed when gunmen opened fire on the terrace of La Belle Equipe restaurant, with witnesses describing the gunmen as firing from a black Seat.
"There was blood everywhere," the witness said.
Another man said he heard shots ring out, in sharp bursts, for two or three minutes.
"I saw several bloodied bodies on the ground," he said.
- Rue Alibert, at least 15 dead -
The terrace of Cambodian restaurant Le Petit Cambodge on Rue Alibert in the 10th district and La Carillon bar on the opposite side of the street were the scene of another attack.
"We heard the sound of guns, 30-second bursts. It was endless. We thought it was fireworks," Pierre Montfort, a local resident, said.
"It was surreal," a woman who arrived on the scene shortly afterwards on scooter. "No one was moving inside the Petit Cambodge and everyone was on the ground in Carillon bar," she said.
"It was very calm -- people didn't understand what was going on. A girl was being carried in the arms of a young man. She seemed to be dead."
The gunfire left at least 15 people dead at the two venues. Witnesses said the assailants arrived in a black Seat Leon car.
- Rue de la Fontaine au Roi, at least 5 dead -
A few hundred metres (yards) from the Bataclan, one or more attackers also raked the terrace of the Casa Nostra pizzeria with gunfire.
"There were at least five dead around me, others in the road, there was blood everywhere. I was very lucky," Mathieu, a 35-year-old witness said.
Another witness said he saw shots being fired from a black car, with several spent cartridges on the ground.

A suicide blew himself up on Boulevard Voltaire, near the Bataclan, seriously injuring one person.
