Otto the skateboarding bulldog achieves Guinness World Record

It happened in Lima, Peru where Otto the bulldog achieved a world record for the “longest human tunnel traveled through by a skateboarding dog,” as he passed through the legs of 30 people.

In the video released by ODN and included above, you can see how skillful this four-year-old mutt really is. He uses his body to adjust the path his board takes, thus managing to avoid every leg in the human tunnel. We also see him occasionally drop paw to the tarmac to speed up his skateboard a little along the way. Naturally he receives a standing ovation at the end and plenty of attention.

Otto wasn’t the only one to achieve a record on Guinness World Records Day, however, as several other people won a place with a weird selection of quirky feats and challenges. According to NBC News, there were around 650,000 hopefuls trying out for a chance to win a Guinness World Record Thursday.

While Otto was doing his very impressive thing in Peru, all the way over in Japan Kinichi Ito won a Guinness World Record for the “fastest 100 meter running on all fours,” with a time of 15.71 seconds.

In the UK, stunt driver Alastair Moffatt managed to win a place for the “tightest reverse parallel park” after squeezing a Mini car in between two other cars, leaving a combined space of a mere 34 centimeters.

In Delhi, India, Dinesh Shivnath Upadhyaya claimed a world record for the “most lit candles in the mouth,” while holding 15 of said candles in one go. Reportedly back when he was 30 he managed to win the world record for “the most matchsticks extinguished with the tongue in one minute.” Ouch, that just has to smart.

There was also a stunt by the Harlem Globetrotters, where Thunder Law achieved “the longest basketball shot made blindfolded” at an amazing 69 feet, 6 inches.

The International Business Times quotes Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief for Guinness World Records, as saying the day was set up to unite people from across the world, in all walks of life, who all have one goal in common – “to become the greatest in the world at something.”

And Otto the skateboarding bulldog? He just totally rules.
