Op-Ed: Iran nuclear talks to resume this week — New details emerge

Odd bedfellows

The U.S. is fighting against Iran, with Iran, and with Syria in Syria. America is fighting alongside Iran in Iraq, and against Iran in Yemen. This is less confusing than the imponderable notion of sitting down to barter with the biggest terrorist supporter on Earth. Iran is responsible for thousands of U.S. and Israeli deaths and now they have been rewarded for their bad behavior.

Since January 20, 2014, the U.S. Joint Plan of Action has relaxed sanctions on Iran and they have been the benefactor of $700 million per month, every month. The previously frozen money freed for the terrorist supporting country is $10 billion and more is on the way. In return, Iran was required to do nothing.

The Iranian regime has vowed to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. The Iranian constitution states that the West, headed by America, must be destroyed. While Secretary of State (SOS) John Kerry was negotiating with the enemy, the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini vehemently chanted “Death to America” as he addressed his compatriots. Iran insists that wiping Israel off the face of the Earth is non-negotiable.

Iran turns to Twitter

After the White House revealed its fact sheet on the nuclear deal, the Ayatollah Khomeini said that there would be no inspections at any military site. If they did possess a nuclear weapon, it would be at a military site. Iran’s Supreme Leader also took to twitter and tweeted, “Hours after the #talks, Americans offered a fact sheet that most of it was contrary to what was agreed. They always deceive &breach promises.”

“I trust our negotiators but I’m really worried as the other side is into lying & breaching promises; an example was White House fact sheet.”

Left behind

Iran has at least three American hostages in captivity. The release of the three is not included in any White House (WH) talking points. After the Bowe Bergdahl debacle, the WH touted that the U.S. does not leave any Americans behind.

This was not the case with former U.S. Marine Andrew Tahmooressi, who was held in a Mexican prison for 214 days. The Obama administration has made no claim to any efforts to free him. The U.S. prisoners held in Iran are former Washington Times journalist Jason Rezaian, former United States Marine Amir Hekmati, and U.S. Christian pastor Saeed Abedini.

What does Iran give up

In the agreement that the Obama Administration has heralded as a historic event, Iran will continue to spin their over 6-thousand centrifuges. They will not store its enriched uranium in Russia as SOS Kerry had previously stated. No nuclear sites will be shut down. Underground nuclear sites can continue to operate and Iran rejects random inspections.

Iranian leaders were not asked to stop funding terrorist groups that have cost American lives. They will continue to fund the terrorist group Hamas, which attacks Israel at will. Iran has the capability to assemble a nuclear warhead in 60 to 90 days. The alleged new agreement is said to stretch Iran’s race to a nuclear bomb to one year. Scientists say, however, that it will be much less than one year.

Congress steps in

During the talks, the U.S. Congress had been excluded. Congress must approve any treaty with another country. Last week, the bipartisan Senate Foreign Affairs Committee voted unanimously on a bill that gives Congress the final say on any deal with Iran.
