Op-Ed: Gaza — This is why Middle East peace is impossible

The only real option is to get rid of the idiots. It’s long overdue.

It’s hard to imagine anything more counterproductive, or fundamentally stupid, than the attack on Israel by Hamas. What were they expecting in response? What else could possibly happen?

This insanity has never “helped” the Palestinian people. That’s what all this is supposed to be about. Generations of absolutely nothing of the slightest use to Palestinians have happened. Every decade, some genius finds a totally predictable way of making things worse for them.

As though life in Gaza wasn’t miserable enough. This minuscule little bit of uninteresting desert is so small you could drive through any similar sized space on Earth and not notice it. The Palestinians are economically “blessed” with multiples of retail prices for basic daily essentials.

This is how much help the Palestinians are getting on a daily basis from their friends. No future planning, no nothing.

So, obviously, what they need is a war. Someone has decided that they need their homes destroyed, and their family members killed and maimed again. How thoughtful.

Even more inspiring, you can now ignore any Palestinian claim to anything based on obscenities like this. It’s a matter of opinion if anything could possibly be more damaging to the Palestinians.

The attack itself killed about 250 people at the current count. Israel has declared war. Nobody with half a working brain cell couldn’t have seen that coming. The inevitable result will be large-scale carnage.

Peace process? What peace process? Did the Palestinians have any say in it? Probably not. Hamas is a law unto itself. It’s classified as a terrorist organization by nations that should know better than to leave terrorists in charge of anyone or anything. This dismal organization has never shown any interest in anything but attacks that have failed countless times before. This maniacal, useless, suicidal attack is just another in a very unimpressive series.

The Palestinians don’t necessarily like or trust Hamas. They’ve been stuck with them for years, see the link to Hamas above for the history. The situation in Gaza has been effectively stagnant since they took over. The Palestinians don’t have a real economy or even nominal status as a nation. They don’t have a future.

Much less impressively, the hardliners in Israel have now been given an irrefutable excuse to get even more hardline. They’ve made it impossible for moderate Israelis to argue for restraint. It’s so obviously stupid that it’s highly suspicious. Why would anyone believe a rocket attack could succeed when they’ve failed so many times before? Why would you give your worst enemies all the propaganda value they need? Why such a blatantly idiotic move?

The Palestinians have been a political football for so many interests in the Middle East. Every single incident has been another case of digging a grave for the Palestinians. All the bloodshed over generations has accomplished nothing. They have no state and no say in their own future. A lot of them are going to be killed to achieve nothing, yet again.

The airstrikes, tanks, and troops will come punctually. Gaza could well be obliterated. Any number of people could be killed. …For what?

The only real option is to get rid of the idiots. It’s long overdue.
