Op-Ed: America still the noisy global nutcase? Culture vs reality on a global scale

America’s incredibly tedious, almost off-the-planet politics are a global problem.

America’s incredibly tedious, almost off-the-planet politics are a global problem. The howling, misspelled, fanaticism paid or otherwise of the far right is one of the working integers. Everything becomes a war, regardless of the subject. Everything is “socialism, Marxism, insert hostile term here”.

What good have these decades of garbage done America? The mindless hate has blocked everything from healthcare to basic human rights to Constitutional rights to education.

The American public, still reeling from the pandemic, massive health costs, the 2008 meltdown, and years of Trump’s total illiteracy, isn’t doing too well. There are 350 million people living in this nuthouse. Nothing good is allowed to happen, thanks to American politics.

So far from making America great, the Trump years made America a highly regressive laughing stock. Policies and slogans from the 1940s (“America First”) don’t work in the 21st century and never will.

Insanity vs the Constitution

The American Constitution is a unique document. It’s a well-thought-out collection of good basic principles. It’s also the only constitution on Earth that even mentions happiness.

Every time America strays from constitutional principles, it lands flat on its butt, usually very hard, and deservedly so. The Civil War, basically a rebellion against the Constitution, proved that point in a gruesome few years of carnage. So did the mishandling of the COVID pandemic, a rebellion against common sense and the core responsibilities of American governments to the people. All that took was an idiot and his even dumber (sleazier?) backers.

Politics is the highly overpaid and ridiculously overrated flea wagging the American dog. Disunity flies in the face of even the name of the United States. Small minds can’t handle big ideas, and the Constitution is made of big ideas. It’s no contest. The Constitution invariably wins, because it’s basically, fundamentally, right in principles.

The problem is that winning takes time, and America has been a spendthrift with its time for 50 years. Most of the issues now festering in Washington could have been fixed by now. Most of the resulting issues would never have happened.

For example – America needs a vast range of technical and other skills. So the political outcome is to make getting those skills almost totally inaccessible, or ridiculously expensive. People with skills generate a lot of business, investment, and revenue. Every dollar you spend on education comes back as at least $20 over a working life.

So you don’t do that – You deliberately and maliciously reduce the possible number of skilled Americans with truly insane pricing for education. Most of the training could be done online with a few cheap clicks, but you insist on unbelievably expensive physical colleges and college mythologies.

You then bitch about not having the people to do those jobs most Americans can’t even afford to train for doing. You make this imbecile-level “argument” a crusade against public education and claim to be a patriot, and some moron believes it.

How stupid are you, America?

Instead of news and hard information, you get someone’s tired old vocabulary and outdated editorial spleen, “interpreting” news. Instead of facts, you get third-party ideologies and worn-out buzzwords. (Trump used the expression “Green New Deal Marxists” in a speech. That’s not oratory; it’s desperation disguised as total illiteracy.) This is PR, not related to any level of information, providing milk and cookies for the uninformed and unaware.

…And somehow you think you’re getting facts that match your daycare level/ “Duh…I’m not a nerd” knowledge base? Can you really think that a large number of relatively affluent, educated, middle-class suburban Americans are communists? Do you think they all want to live in poverty in some commune somewhere talking in mindless political slogans? They’re about as left-wing as Las Vegas.

After a murderous pandemic that killed more Americans than World War 2, “presided” over by a lowbrow pseudo-billionaire nonentity, what’s happening? A lot of people are trying to obstruct recovery, and getting paid well to do it. What, are you running a Save Our Expensive Morons outreach campaign?

The global problem

The global problem is that this totally incompetent, deluded insanity is now giving license to other hack noisemakers around the world. It’s been a race to the absolute, inexcusable bottom. Chicken brain politics is now the norm, and chickens can’t run countries too well.

Witness the crumbling UK, making the worst possible decisions from Brexit onwards. Exactly the same mentalities are effectively destroying that country. Food, medicine, and basic supply chains are falling apart.

This is politics? No. It’s greed, managed by incompetence and ignorance. The main beneficiaries of politics are politicians and their owners. Nothing at all is ever done on the basis of ideology or buzzwords. Maybe some people do occasionally have principles, but they’re the exceptions.

The problem is this – America typically leads by default. During the Cold War, it was the alternative to the USSR. Now, it’s the alternative to an arguably totally irrational and incomprehensibly aggressive for no reason at all China.

American politics, therefore, is the bastard child of this situation. The child is either the more familiar basic nice if erratic kid or the insufferable, mentally unsanitary, unforgivable, brat.

Which is it? The world would like to know. The insanity has to go and go soon. The rest of this century is unlikely to be a picnic for anyone. Particularly big dumb countries which do know a lot better than to tolerate idiots.
