Meanwhile, nearby Peel Regional police say they have made three arrests in the Friday shooting of one of their officers and a civilian, both of whom who are expected to survive. They are looking for a fourth suspect, described as a black male wearing dark clothing; he is considered armed and dangerous.
In that shooting, an officer was responding to a call on Stokes Rd. near Peele Ave. West at about 10:20 p.m. and had just pulled up in his cruiser when multiple shots were fired at him before he could exit the vehicle. One of those shots hit the officer in the upper body, police said.
Two men were taken into custody when other officers arrived and one other man was found early Saturday hiding in a parked car near the scene of the shooting. Officers are searching in the area for a fourth man.
After being shot, the officer was able to maneuver his cruiser around a corner before being incapacitated by his wound. The wounded civilian was found lying in the front yard of the home.
