Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps supports water conservation

A world-renowned swimmer, Phelps is continuing his work with Colgate’s #EveryDropCounts campaign, which aids to conserve water. Phelps serves as the global ambassador of this campaign, and he opened up about this initiative in such media outlets as CBS This Morning, Bloomberg Surveillance and Fox Business, among others.

Phelps underscored the importance of conserving water, as well as educating people on the simple ways that one can conserve water (such as turning off the faucet while brushing teeth or other simple things). According to statistics, Phelps noted that by the year 2024, approximately 40 states will be affected by water shortage. “We can all make a serious impact,” Phelps said, in his CBS This Morning interview.

The Michael Phelps Foundation just celebrated a decade of water safety. He hosted a press conference, as well as swimming lessons for kids and a stroke clinic with swimmers from the Special Olympics of Arizona, which was lead by such acclaimed swimmers as Phelps, Allison Schmitt and Cathy Bennett.
