NFL wants Randy Moss mooning clip removed from Sen. Feingold’s ad

Feingold included the clip in a montage of overt touchdown celebrations, comparing the celebrations to the behaviour of Washington lobbyists. Feingold says in the campaign ad: “In pro football, they call this excessive celebration. And they punish it with fines and 15-yard penalties. It’s exactly the kind of behavior that corporate special interests and Ron Johnson are engaging in. They’re dancing in the end zone because they think they’re going to take down the U.S. senator who’s been named the No. 1 enemy of Washington lobbyists.”

Included in the ad is the contentious clip of Moss scoring and then “mooning” the fans, during a 2005 game against the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau field. Broadcaster Joe Buck can be heard saying, “That is a disgusting act.”

The NFL didn’t license Feingold to use the clip. The league has contacted Feingold about removing the clip, but there is no word yet about any response.

Recent polls show Feingold trailing in the Wisconsin Senate race.
