Ukraine ceasefire talks start in Minsk

Talks aimed at negotiating a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine opened in Minsk on Friday, in the latest push to halt nearly five months of fighting between separatists and Kiev authorities, a Belarussian official told AFP.

The so-called Contact Group conducting the talks includes representatives of Russia, Ukraine, separatists and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
