It is possible meth is called “dope” for a reason. Two couples in separate incidents in rural California, were the victims of poor choices and even worse judgement Tuesday evening and very early Wednesday morning, if judgement was used at all.
First up: Levi Friedli, a 28-year-old Sonora and Lodi, California resident along with Jennifer Maldonado, a 32-year-old resident of Lockeford were enjoying an evening at a local casino near Sonora.
Unfortunately, neither of the two thought to put away their drug paraphernalia when they got to the casino.
Then a couple of Sheriff Deputies walking through the parking lot spotted the items in Friedli’s car. The drug paraphernalia then led to a further search of the car which netted both stolen items plus an ounce and a half of meth, as reported at MyMotherLodedotcom.
A checkbook, driver’s license and credit cards not belonging to either of the two arrested were found in the vehicle. They were arrested and held on a $60,000 bail for 11379(A) HS: Transp/Etc Cntl Sub, 11378 HS: Poss Cntl Sub For Sale, 11364.1(A) HS: Poss Unlawful Paraphernalia, 496(A) PC: Rec known stolen prop less than $950
148.9(A) PC: False Id To Specific PO’s for Mr. Friedli. Ms Maldonado was charged with 11379(A) HS: Transp/Etc Cntl Sub, 11378 HS: Poss Cntl Sub For Sale, 11364.1(A) HS: Poss Unlawful Paraphernalia. Neither appears to have been able to make bail yet.
The second couple includes Abigail Owens, a 23-year-old Sonora resident and Brian Gomes, also of Sonora and 20 years old. Ms. Owens failed to note she had a tail-light out on her car, and chose to carry a quarter ounce of heroin, drug paraphernalia, material to package eithr of the two drugs in, plus 0.39 grams of methamphetamine.
Driving around in the very early hours of Wednesday morning, she and her passenger, Mr. Gomes were stopped for the tail-light infraction. When Ms. Owens’ license was run through the computer, was on probation with an allowance of a search for reasonable cause. That would be when the various illegal drugs were found.
The net result was both of the individuals were arrested for narcotics possession, transportation, along with (intent to) sell and drug paraphernalia.
Both Ms. Owens and Mr. Gomes have been regular residents at the Tuolumne County jail of late with prior arrests on April 4th and again on April 7th for: 11352(A) HS: Transport/Sell Narc/Cntrl Sub, 11351 HS: Poss/Purchase For Sale Narc/Cntrl Sub, 11364 A HS: Poss Unlawful Paraphernalia and the ever popular 1203.2 (A) PC: Violation of Probation.
It would appear to be that last item of violation of probation which is causing the current problem since that is likely where the issue of being on a searchable probation stems from. According to MyMotherlodedotcom, the pair are being held at this time on a $30,000 bail. They should be back on the street by Thursday, April 14.
