The robbery took place on the tenth of November last year when the victim, who is in his 50’s, was robbed of £1,000.
The victim had arranged for his broken boiler to be fixed and had withdrawn the money in order to pay the man he had arranged to fix it.
The victim allowed the man who the police wish to speak to into his home believing that he was the man he’d arranged to fix his boiler. The man then said that it would cost £650 but despite that took the entire £1,000. As soon as the money had been handed to him then man immediately.
Later the victim discovered that jewellery which belonged to his late wife had also gone missing.
The officer leading the case from Havering Borough is Trainee Detective Constable Deborah Wyatt, who said:
“This is a deplorable crime where the victim has clearly been targeted due to his blindness.
“I would appeal to the person in the image released, or anyone who recognises him, to contact us.”
