Man in NZ drinks beer while toasting marshmallow over volcano

The man, Simon Turner, roasted some marshmallows that were attached to the end of a tent peg while on a trip to Marcum Crater, located in Ambrym.

Bradley Ambrose, a volcano expert, recorded Turner’s stunt. Ambrose has made the descent towards the lava lake more than 10 times.

Ambrose said that in the past, the lake has spitted out droplets of lava, which destroyed camera equipment. He also said he has been burnt in the past.

To reach the lake, which can reach temperatures of up to 1093C, Turner and Ambrose descended more than 1,200 feet, or about three miles of rappelling.

Turner said that the marshmallow was one of the most perfectly-cooked marshmallow that he has ever tasted.

Turner said that the marshmallow didn’t take long to cook because he dangled it where the radiant heat was the hottest.

The video was uploaded a few days ago by CatersTV, and has already received more than 60,000 views.
