The blood in the man’s urine was from his period. The 37-year-old said he has been experiencing strange symptoms for years, but medics just brushed his concerns aside. Some of the symptoms he experienced included a dull ache after having sex.
Doctors discovered that the man had female reproductive organs after they performed several scans, according to Global Grind.
The man, who was only identified as Rob, said that he was shocked when he was told he had female reproductive organs. He said that it appeared that he could even potentially become pregnant, and he was told that within the next few weeks, he will be having a hysterectomy.
Medical specialists believe that Rob has PMDS, short for persistent Müllerian duct syndrome.
Aside from the hysterectomy, Rob will undergo DNA testing, as this will determine his accurate gender balance. In Britain, there are around 120 cases like Rob’s reported each year, but doctors say that it is unusual for someone to find out that they have a womb so late in life.
Rob is hoping that he becomes a father once the womb is removed and that he will continue to live his life as a man. However, there is a risk that the hysterectomy could damage his sperm.
