Kentucky police are searching for fictional ‘Frozen’ character

The Harlan City Police Department in eastern Kentucky is sick and tired of the winter weather and they’re ready to do something about it. On Wednesday, the department issued an arrest warrant for Queen Elsa from the Disney movie Frozen. In the movie, the character has the power to control the weather and police are blaming her for this week’s winter storm. At 11:08 Central Standard Time Wednesday, Harlan police posted the following on their Facebook page:

All points bulletin!!! HPD has issued an arrest warrant for Queen Elsa of Arendelle. Suspect is a blonde female last seen wearing a long blue dress and is known to burst into song “Let it Go!” As you can see by the weather she is very dangerous. Do not attempt to apprehend her alone.

With regards to the large amount of media attention their post has gotten, the police department posted that, while it has been fun, they want to remind everyone to take the cold weather very seriously. “Do take the precautions you need to keep you, your friends, family, neighbors and pets safe during the snow queen’s mad spell,” they wrote.

Temperatures in Kentucky have dropped drastically over the last several days, with the worst yet to come. Temps in the 25 below zero range are not out of the question for Thursday night, which only adds insult to injury with the deep snow that doesn’t seem to want to melt. This weekend, more snow and possibly some freezing rain and sleet is expected on top of what is already on the ground. Many schools in the state have called off classes every day this week.
