JetBlue passenger urinates on fellow travelers on board flight

Around 30 minutes before landing “he stood up and began urinating through the crack of the seat onto the passengers seated in front of him,” read the Port of Portland police report, according to CNN.

“At some point Jeff Rubin lost his balance causing him to fall backwards and urinate upwards which got on the passengers and seats next to him as well as some other passenger’s personal belongings,” police said.

The cabin kept pretty calm, Suzanna Caldwell, a reporter for Alaska Dispatch News told Fox News. She was sitting two rows in front of Rubin.

“It’s not like anyone was screaming. I didn’t even realize anything had happened until the flight attendants came up to me and told me police were going to come onboard,” she told the Dispatch for a story on its website.

Officers had to wake Rubin up when they got on board because he appeared to have fallen asleep again, Caldwell said, adding that she wasn’t urinated on.

Then an officer started interviewing passengers.

“At one point, the officer was like, ‘Who got peed on?'” Caldwell said.

Officers boarded the plane around 4:30 a.m. after it landed at Portland International Airport 4:30 a.m. after it landed at Portland International Airport, according to a Port police report, OregonLive reports.

Tamara Young, a spokeswoman for JetBlue, confirmed that authorities boarded the flight to investigate a “customer incident.” She referred questions regarding the case to the police.

Rubin, of Gresham, Oregon, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center just after 5:00 a.m. Friday, records show, according to MailOnline.

He was charged with alleged second-degree criminal mischief and offensive littering, and was released on his own recognizance.

Rubin didn’t immediately respond to a message requesting comment.
