Japanese divers found alive after going missing in Bali

-

Four Japanese scuba divers were found alive Monday in waters off the Indonesian resort island of Bali three days after going missing, police said.

"Four divers were found alive. They were found by fishermen around 3:30 pm (0730 GMT)," said local police chief Nyoman Suarsika.

The four were among seven Japanese divers, all women, who went missing on Friday.

"They are now being rescued and taken to Sanur," he added, referring to a beach area of southern Bali popular with tourists.

He said they were found some 300 metres (about 1,000 feet) from the coast of Nusa Penida, a small island southeast of Bali.

Around 100 people have been searching since the five tourists and two instructors went missing during their third dive of the day from the island of Nusa Lembongan, next to Penida.
