Ice sculpture of Jeep left in North Carolina parking lot

Harsh winter weather has been impacting a huge portion of the United States recently. Bitterly cold temperatures in the negative 20 and negative 30 degree range have been popping up and breaking records in many states and for many areas, the snow and ice just don’t seem to want to melt away. The bizarre weather has left some interesting sculptures behind, however. According to a local NBC affiliate in North Carolina, a sculpture of the front end of a Jeep was found in the parking lot of the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville this past Tuesday.

Kimberly Freeman, a clinical dietitian at the facility, was walking to her car after work Tuesday afternoon when she spotted the interesting sculpture. At first, she thought she was seeing a mirage but she then began taking photos with her phone. One of those photos has made its rounds on the internet over the last several days but Freeman says she’s surprised it has gotten that much attention.

“I’m overwhelmed. To me it’s just a really cool picture I shared with a few people and now I’m hearing from everyone that it’s gone viral. I think it’s crazy,” she told North Carolina’s WITN. Even Jeep has contacted Freeman, asking to use her photo.

If that photo isn’t interesting enough, however, ABC 11 in North Carolina posted a similar photo on their website that was sent to them on the same day. The photo appears to show an ice sculpture of the front end of a Dodge Charger.

The weather has certainly been the talk of the town recently in many parts of the United States. Many areas have been impacted by several rounds of winter weather in the last two weeks alone and more cold temperatures and precipitation is yet to come. In Kentucky, where many schools and businesses are still closed this week after two rounds of snow, ice and freezing rain fell last week, local police officers decided to have a little fun with the weather, putting out an arrest warrant for the fictional ‘Queen Elsa’ from the Disney movie ‘Frozen.’
