Australian Scotty James joked he needed a cricket box to protect his private parts during Saturday's Olympic snowboarding slopestyle semi-finals after injuring them in the heats, but it didn't help him qualify for the final.
The 20-year-old finished eighth in Saturday morning's semi-final after a score of 77.25, with only the top four going through to join the eight riders already qualified for the afternoon final.
But James joked he had taken extreme measures to allow him to race after hurting his "man parts" in Thursday's qualifying heats.
"I'm A-ok. I got on to Cricket Australia to get a box," he said. "I made a funny joke about my man parts because they were hurting."
