Hong Kong police say 80 arrests at pro-democracy protest site

Hong Kong police said they arrested 80 people after moving in Tuesday to clear a city street blocked by pro-democracy protesters for nearly two months.

A police spokeswoman told AFP the arrests in Mongkok district were made for criminal contempt of a court order requiring the clearing of the street, for assaulting police and for unlawful assembly.
