Hazmat crews, FBI storm IRS building in Utah; white powder found

Early news report found that Hazmat crews and the FBI were called to the scene in Utah to deal with a “a possible chemical situation”. A powder may have been found in the mail at the facility but that information has not yet been confirmed.

Two people were removed on stretchers and several others were undergoing decontamination showers, according to MSNBC.

The incident occurred at Farr West, near Ogden about 30 miles from Salt Lake City.

The call came in at 11:15 a.m. MST at 1973 N. Rulon White Blvd., a Weber County police dispatcher confirmed.

This news comes only 11 days after a Texas man angry at the IRS crashed his small plane into the agency’s complex in Austin, Texas. He left a suicide note on Facebook explaining why he was frustrated with the IRS and his country’s economic situation.
