Danh Van Le, 31, is the co-founder of the YouTube channel Trollstation and he was sentenced in Inner London Crown Court yesterday.
Van Le filmed a stunt involved a hoax bomb. The video showed a teenager approaching people in London and he showed them a clock inside a briefcase. He then dropped it and ran away from the people he was showing the briefcase to.
Another stunt took place near the Tate and the National Portrait Gallery, and that stunt involved fake robbers holding up paintings.
The prankster filmed the clock stunt back in September. Van Le admitted to one count of bomb hoax placing with intent and a judge sentenced him to 24 weeks in jail. As for the gallery incident, he admitted to using threatening words or behavior with the intent to cause violence or fear, and he received an additional 12 weeks.
The teen, who is now 16, was given his sentenced back in February, and he received a 12-month intense referral order.
A spokesman for Trollstation said the sentences were not fair, and back in February a production crew for Jackie Chan’s movie The Foreigner blew up a bus in the city, and nobody was warned except some locals.
